About

Contemporary Pop

Using classical instruments and reinventing them with the use of technology is the key element of this dynamic band. Nimikry is not just a duo but a playground for innovative music creation. It’s musical aesthetic goes beyond the border of contemporary art and discovers new fields such as experimental electronics, noise-pop, classical remix and improvisation. The distinctive element connecting all these genres into one musical project is the innovative instrumentarium.

Many Faces

Nimikry presents multifaceted performances. It’s musical project involves different disciplines and combines them in a new format: from concert to performance, from generative environment to sound sculptures, from live-set to artistic remix.

Nimikry represents a new way of combining technology and classical instrumental playing. It’s credo: no boundaries of time, conditions or frame.

PHILOSOPHY

Our experience as instrumentalists as well as curious composers has brought us to confront us with our instrument and re-invent it to fit our musical aesthetics. Nimikry represents a new way of combining technology and classical instrumental playing. Our instruments are the playground of a constant research for new sound possibilities.

Our musical aesthetic goes beyond the border of contemporary art and discovers new fields such as experimental electronics, noise-pop, classical remix and improvisation. The distinctive element connecting all these genres into one musical project  is our innovative instrumentarium. Our classical musical education as well as our confrontation with language of the avant-garde shapes our approach on stage and behind the scenes.

We presents multifaceted performances and our musical project involves dfferent disciplines and combines them in a new format: from concert to live-jam, from generative environment to sound sculptures, from live-set to artistic remix. We set no boundaries of time, conditions or frame.

We want to break the boundaries of genre and welcome collaborations with artists from different fields of the arts. Site- and project-specific work is a key point of our creative approach. Our extensive dedication to musical technology and sound art allows us a great flexibility and variety of output.

Modern times set demaning challenges for artists and innovators. Nimikry shows our very own perception of our musical reality.
